March for Meals 2016

"March for Meals" is a national campaign sponsored by the Meals On Wheels America to raise awareness about senior hunger and to encourage action on the part of local communities. Our efforts to get the message out and encourage the community to become involved in the campaign culminated in our celebration of "Community Champions Week". Beginning March 14^th through March 18^th, our local "Community Champions" included the Forks Township Police Department, Chief Diluzio and the Bethlehem City Mounted Patrol, PA State Police Belfast, Sheriff Jill Kirchgesser & Deputy Mark Surber of the Northampton County Sheriff's Department, the Nam Knights Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club, local mayors, and many others who have an important role in our local community. Our clients were thrilled to answer the door and be greeted by a local celeb, but more important, our champs were able to see the impact of the Meals On Wheels in the lives of our seniors. Along with our local celebrities, we celebrated our everyday champions, our volunteers, who so generously give their time to Meals on Wheels.
