Classic Curves by premier photographer Amy DeLeo
Yardley native Amy DeLeo was born in New York and has
been a photographer as long as she can
remember. "I was always the kid with the camera; I took
all the family vacation photos
along
with the special events.
When
it came time to decide on a college and a career I chose to go
to the School
of
Visual Arts in Manhattan and major in
photography.
I
received a Bachelors of Fine arts degree in photography and I
was very excited about
my
chosen path.
After
graduating I worked as an assistant for a while with many
commercial
photographers in order to learn the ropes of owning a
working photography studio. Four
years
later, I was offered a position at New York University Medical
Center as a
photographer in the dermatology department. It was a
long way from what I wanted to
pursue
in photography, but the income helped to pay the bills. I never
gave up on my own
personal photography and have created a large body of
work. My passion is still fine art
photography and I feel lucky that I can continue to do
it. I currently live in Yardley
Pennsylvania. I have my own darkroom and still enjoy
developing black and white film
and
printing enlargements.
Recently, I have been focusing on color digital
photography and antique cars. I
love
the angles and shapes that create the body of these
automobiles. I find it to be a very
creative and exceptional time in the car making
industry.
My
other passion is photographing scenes from out west. I
photograph the
landscape and the unusual animals that can only be found
in the Rocky Mountain area of
the
United States. My passion for history, antique cars and the
wild west seem to
compliment each other. I hope you share my love for
photography, cars, and my version
of the
American West." Amy's original work can be seen all month in
this years Annual Newtown Art Walk as well as a full front
window display
at our
South State Street gallery celebrating the 10th Annual Newtown
Antique & Classic Automobile Show on Sunday.
